Worldly Women Collective Book Club Guidelines

Moderator Role:

We have a designated moderator for each meeting. The moderator's responsibility is to facilitate the discussion and ensure that everyone has a chance to participate. The moderator can gently intervene if someone speaks too long or the conversation veers off-topic.

Time Limits:

To foster an inclusive and engaging environment, we encourage each member to speak for no more than two to three minutes per turn. This practice ensures everyone can share their thoughts and prevents one person from monopolizing any discussion. If you have spoken two to three times, please hold further comments until others have had an opportunity to speak; only add additional comments if you are sure there are no other members who have not spoken and are waiting.

Introductions:

Introduce yourself—first name only—and share your initial impressions of the book or how it was relevant to you (preferably in less than one minute).

Encourage Listening:

We invite active listening during discussions. When you wish to speak, please first check to see if someone else is waiting to speak.

Book Club Membership Limit:

Our book club is capped at 20 official members to maintain a discussion environment.  We operate on a first-come, first-served basis with a waitlist for interested individuals when we reach capacity. We allow non-official members an opportunity to attend book club meetings once before formally joining Worldly Women Collective.
