International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP)

Since 1966, Global Ties Arizona has contributed to creating a more peaceful, just and connected world through the promotion of people-to-people exchange and citizen-to-citizen diplomacy.

As a Community-Based Member, Global Ties Arizona works to further  U.S. foreign policy objectives through The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP): a premier professional exchange program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. Every year, Global Ties Arizona welcomes hundreds of IVLP participants to the Greater Phoenix area. Emerging leaders are carefully nominated by U.S. embassies around the world, and thus the participants make up an elite group. They represent over 160 countries and have a range of areas of expertise. Inspired by program themes and professional interests, throughout the year, Global Ties Arizona connects these IVLP participants to relevant Arizona counterparts, allowing international visitors to: formulate their own unique perspectives about the United States, to expand their professional networks, and to recognize the sustainable value of international collaboration in community leadership initiatives.

Through the IVLP program, we bring emerging, transformational leaders from diverse industries around the world to Arizona to engage in dynamic meetings, promote diversity and the exchange of culture through community engagement, and support local tourism. While here, both delegates and local community members get the opportunity to:

Meet Their Counterparts

Exchange Best Practices

Form Lasting Connections That Advance Arizona Abroad

Global Ties Arizona is proud to partner with these national program agencies to implement the International Leadership Exchange Program in Arizona.
