Hilen B. Cruz

Hilen is a bilingual, bicultural, and collaborative individual who understands diversity and the importance of assertive communication. An individual with strong sense of discipline and respect.

Hilen holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Sonora in Hermosillo, México; an MBA from the University of Phoenix; Leadership Certifications from the Hispanic Leadership Institute and the Chandler Leadership Foundation in Arizona, and an Energy Innovation and Emerging Technologies Certificate from Stanford University.

Hilen has held roles in multiple areas within the Electric Utility Industry in Arizona since 2004, including Underground Distribution Design, Overhead Transmission Engineering, Engineering Standards, Customer Program Innovation, Lighting Management, and Government Relations. In her current role, she works with City Mayors, City Managers and County Supervisors in Apache County, as well as with CEOs of Chambers of Commerce and Business Organizations across Arizona.

She is a member of the Energy Committee of the Arizona-Mexico Commission on behalf of SRP since 2011, currently serving as co-chair by assignment of the Governor of Arizona. Hilen also serves on the Board of Directors at the Chandler Chamber of Commerce since 2020. She is the Author of a book titled ¡Ponte las Pilas, México! published in 2011. She was named one of the 40 Hispanics Leaders Under 40 by Valle del Sol and Univision Arizona in 2014.

Hilen is the proud mother of Ximena and Bruno, and she enjoys traveling, hiking, and photography.
