Emilio Gaynor
Emilio W. Gaynor serves as Vice President of Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC) Global Division and President of CPLC Mexico A.C., where he heads international relations, government efforts, business development and CPLC’s global expansion. He has extensive experience in international relations and development having headed delegations and business efforts in Mexico and Latin America for over 25 years. Emilio has accomplished great success in connecting Mexican businesses with resources to contribute to their success in Arizona. He has led high-level business and government missions to Mexico connecting trade, investment, business and philanthropic partners. Serving the social sector, he has launched cross border collaboration between non-profit organizations and foundations in both the U.S. and Mexico. Emilio regularly contributes to Spanish publications in Sonora and Arizona including La Cueva de Los D-backs infield monthly magazine, Revista Frontera Norte and has OpEd articles published on Hermosillo and Phoenix Sister City relationship in the Business Journal and Prensa Arizona. Emilio served in the executive branch for two governors as representative of the State of Arizona in Sonora, Mexico and as Executive Director of the Arizona Mexico Commission in the Office of the Governor. He also served as development director for Latin America in aerospace design and a communications services in Mexico and South America as well as headed international mining distribution and service venture that focused on Chile, Peru, and Mexico. Emilio serves as commissioner of Phoenix Sister Cities (PSC) and the Phoenix Planning Commission appointed by Mayor and Council. Emilio’s community and civic contributions also include serving as Community Committee Co-chair on the Governor’s Arizona Mexico Commission. He serves as chair of the PSC Business Relations Committee, Chair of the Arizona Diamondbacks Hispanic Council, board member of the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce and advisory council of the City of Surprise AZTechCelerator business accelerator program. Emilio also served as board member and treasurer of the World Affairs Council and received an honorary Doctor Honoris Causa at Mexico’s National Autonomous University.
