Itanagar: Election observers deputed by Election Commission of India are at Aalo, the headquarters of West Siang district in Arunachal Pradesh to oversee election process particularly on violation of modal code of conduct as laid down by the Commission for Parliamentary and Assembly elections.

The observers have asked all political parties to contact them for any kind of complaints, violation of modal code of conducts by contesting candidates, an official release informed here on Tuesday. The ECI has appointed Jagdish Prasad Jangid as the expenditure observer for Arunachal West Parliamentary constituency while, Amanjit Singh has been appointed, as expenditure observer of Liromoba, Likabali, Basar, Aalo West and Aalo East assembly constituencies in the state. Darpan Jain has been appointed as general observer for Liromoba, Aalo West and Aalo East assembly constituencies under Arunachal West Parliamentary Constituency.

Jain on Tuesday convened a meeting with District Electoral Officer (DEO), sector magistrates, nodal officers and exhorted them to discharge their duties in a time bound within the time frame set by the ECI.

Arunachal is going for simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections on April 11 next while counting of votes would be held on May 23.
